Frequently Asked Questions

  • What services does your roofing company offer?

We provide a range of services, including residential roofing, roof maintenance, commercial roofing, and roof cleaning.

Additionally, through our sister company, Roof Maxx, we specialize in adding life to existing roofs through our roof “rejuvenation” service. Our proprietary product adds back the oils that dry out from shingles and helps your shingles last longer with a limited product warranty from 5 years with a single treatment up to 15 years with additional treatments. A Roof Maxx treatment adds useful life to a roof for a fraction of the cost of a full replacement.

  • How can I benefit from your roof maintenance services?

Our roof maintenance services ensure the longevity and integrity of your roof, preventing costly repairs in the future.

  • Do you offer commercial roofing services?

Yes, we are a trusted commercial roofing company, specializing in commercial roofing services.

  • What are the benefits of hiring a professional for roof cleaning?

Roof cleaning is important for the longevity of your shingles. A slower acting all-natural roof cleaner may be used and results will improve over time. Or, for faster results, a more toxic cleaner may be used. A professional company will be more likely to protect landscape and furniture than most homeowners and should cover the cost of replacing anything that might experience damage. Most importantly, safety is a major concern for homeowners trying to clean their own roofs, while a professional should have liability and worker’s compensation insurance to cover any mishaps.

  • How do I choose the right roof repair contractor?

Look for experience, reputation, and quality in a roof repair contractor, all of which we offer.

  • What sets your roof replacement contractors apart from others?

We are a small family owned business which allows our owners to be fully involved in every job. We don’t rely on employees or subcontractors to ensure a job is completed to the customer’s satisfaction. An owner will always be on site during some or all of a job and will always make a final inspection to ensure an A+ job! Our crews have many years of experience and we take no shortcuts when it comes to your roof. We use high quality materials and work diligently to ensure each job is handled with care and attention.

  • What kind of roof cleaning methods do you use?

We use safe and effective roof cleaning methods, eliminating debris, mold, and stains without damaging your roof.

  • How can I get in touch with your roofing experts?

Contact us at (901) 300-3939 to discuss your roofing needs or schedule a consultation.

  • Why does my roof have dark stains?

Typically, we find that most dark stains are from a live algae spore by the name of Gleocapsa Magma. This live spore is actually feeding on your shingles and is most common on North facing slopes or on slopes which get the most shade from the sun. Reborn Roofing can not only clean your roof to kill the algae and make it look great again, but we also have a proprietary product through our Roof Maxx Dealership that can rejuvenate your shingles and extend the life of your roof from 5 to 15 more years!

  • Why do I see my shingles shining in the direct sun?

What you are seeing when you see the shining of your shingles is the fiberglass layer of your asphalt shingles. Over time, the granules wear off of the top layer of shingles exposing the asphalt to more sun exposure. Then, over time, the asphalt will wear off exposing the fiberglass. If you notice this, then your shingles have experienced considerable wear and your roof would likely need either a Roof Maxx rejuvenation or an entire replacement.

  • Should I get my roof professionally inspected?

Yes, it is recommended that you have a professional roof inspection at least every 5 years. Reborn Roofing typically conducts these inspections at no charge to look for small issues that can lead to leaks and deterioration of your shingles.

  • What does my homeowners insurance cover regarding my roof?

While all insurance companies are different, the short answer is that insurance will only reimburse you for storm damage to your roof. This includes shingles that blow off during storms, hail damage, or tree limbs that fall on your roof. Insurance companies do not cover normal wear and tear of your roof which is why you should let us inspect your roof every few years. Reborn Roofing will help you with your insurance claim to make sure you get reimbursed what your policy allows.

  • Is it cheaper to add a layer of shingles over my existing layer?

We never recommend adding shingles on top of existing shingles. Your new layer of shingles will experience a shorter life-span than if you pay a little extra to have all the shingles removed prior to replacing your roof.

  • What does a shingle manufacturer's warranty really mean?

Shingle manufacturers now have manufacturing defect warranties from 30 years up to a lifetime. It is important to understand that this warranty period does not state that your shingles will last that long. Shingles rarely last 30 years, never last 50 years, and certainly won’t last a long lifetime. These warranties state that during the warranty period term they will cover part or all of the cost of replacement if it is discovered that your shingles have a “manufacturer’s defect”. Normal wear and tear of shingles is not covered under these warranties.

  • How long should shingles last?

We always like to state that never will you go to bed one night and your shingles are fine, and then wake up the next morning and your shingles are bad unless your roof experiences storm damage. The concern with a roof “lasting” as long as it can depends on certain areas of your roof experiencing more wear and tear than others that can cause a leak. For instance, the ridges on top of your roof typically experience the most wear and tear. South facing slopes also experience more rapid wear due to sun exposure. In the Midsouth, we see 3-tab shingles start to experience failure anywhere from 12 to 15 years and we see architectural shingles start to experience failure anywhere from 15 to 20 years.
